Pawpaw is the largest edible native fruit of North America. Pawpaws grow in temperate American soils, yet taste of the tropics, with the flavor and texture of both banana and mango. They’re historically native to American woodlands, were cultivated by Native Americans, and played an important role in feeding enslaved people on their escape routes to the North.

We're planting a grove of pawpaw trees on Andrews Farm 
Sunday May 1, from 2:00 - 5:00. 

Wear your boots.  Bring your gloves and shovel for an afternoon in the field prepping and planting 20 young pawpaw trees.  Some lucky volunteer will win a pawpaw prize!   

Parking is available on Berry Patch Lane, down at the end by the Marina F. Andrews Community Garden. RSVP with a reply to this email.
