Farming Falmouth has won a $5,000 Community Impact Grant!
Thanks to you, and your vote for the Martha's Vineyard Bank Community Impact Grant, Farming Falmouth will be awarded $5,000 to support our new service garden on Andrews Farm. All food grown there will be donated to the Falmouth Service Center.
Farming Falmouth has been gleaning surplus produce for donation to the Falmouth Service Center since 2020. Last summer there was a surge in the number of households they support. At the same time, the Falmouth Farmers Market reported a 58% increase in the number of shoppers enrolled in SNAP (the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). It is time to grow more fresh, nutritious food for more people in Falmouth.
