Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer at the Service Garden
Early this spring, we prepared for planting by pulling back the treeline, and setting up systems to suppress the perennial weeds. We spread aged compost, and began planting onions, garlic, lettuces, kales and sweet potatoes. We're ordering supplies, to set up a shed for centralized storage so we can supply our volunteers with the tools they need to tend the land.
We're making plans to donate our summer harvests to the Falmouth Service Center. We'll need many hands along the way. Get involved in the growing! Farm Manager, Jeny Christian, hosts open volunteer hours every Tuesday from 11-5! As we move into the summer, we'll organize Saturdays as needed.
Join our community partners! Many thanks to our Volunteers, JSK Tree Care, Saunders Landcare, Martha's Vineyard Bank and the Barnstable County Extension.
Volunteer for the Strawberry Festival!
Farming Falmouth and St. Barnabus continue a partnership that began with their support for the Community Orchard that we planted on Andrews Farm in 2020. They have asked us for a team of five enthusiastic volunteers to lend a helping hand at the St. Barnabas Strawberry Festival on Saturday June 17th, 2023.
As a community-driven event, the festival brings together local residents, vendors, and visitors for a day of fun, food, and entertainment. We need volunteers to assist with various tasks such as setting up stalls, serving refreshments, and managing activities.
If you care about building community, then this is the perfect opportunity
for you. Join us in strengthening our growing partnership with St. Barnabas Church, and help make the Strawberry Festival a success!
