Farming Falmouth Donates More Than 900 Pounds Of Produce To Service Center

From the Falmouth Enterprise

By GILDA GEIST

Farming Falmouth’s trial run of its new service garden—where all the produce is donated to the Falmouth Service Center—has been deemed a success.

With just a small portion of the garden in production this season, Farming Falmouth has been able to donate nearly a thousand pounds of produce to the service center so far this year.

The service garden is at Tony Andrews Farm, in a plot just beyond the community garden. Most of the garden plot is covered in black tarp, which helps keep the weeds at bay. The uncovered area has lots of vegetables and herbs growing: lettuce, onions, leeks, sage, four kinds of kale, collard greens, swiss chard, eggplants, onions, peppers and more.
