We're growing food for the Falmouth Service Center and  Cape & Island Veterans Outreach  Join us in the Service Garden this week! Hi Service Guard-ners,  If you're new here or have been with us for awhile, we need you more than ever. It's planting time! We have hundreds of seedlings in the greenhouse ready to be put in the ground. We've been taking a hands on approach teaching about "no-till methods" used to increase our food donation volume, while giving back to the soil.  This week, we are planting more head lettuce, prepping beds for the summer squash and cucumbers and other crops. Join us for an hour or the day! Help us plan by signing up.  Monday 3p - 6p Wednesday 9a -3p Friday 9a - 3p Save the Date! Saturday May 25th   Join us for the Service Garden Blitz.  In the morning, attend our educational workshop, Service Garden Session #3 Transplanting Hot Weather Crops.  You can reserve your seat HERE.    Volunteers are invited from 2pm-6pm, come meet the Farming Falmouth community at the Service Garden, learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities and enjoy refreshments with us. Please bring water, gloves and a friend. We will be working on the garden infrastructure - laying cardboard and wood chips for pathways. RSVP HERE. The Service Garden is a quarter acre farm field on the historic Tony Andrews Farm owned by the town of Falmouth.  It is Sub-Leased from the generous Geoff Andrews and run by the Non Profit Farming Falmouth inc. The farm field is tended by Farming Falmouth's farm manager and community volunteers. All the food grown is being donated to the Falmouth Service Center and the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center. We exceeded last year's goal and donated over 1400 lbs of fresh food, so this year we have increased our fields and goals!
